If you don?t practice hard, you won?t be able work hard in the game. Although coaches may believe that practice makes perfect, I disagree. If you practice poorly, you will play poorly. We found that 24-25 players is the best number for starting your season. We mix and match until we have the right number for every team. My personal teams lose one player before the season starts. They decide that playing football is not for a good fit. We lose 1 player per game as the season progresses due to illness, injuries, grades, etc. For games and practices, we usually have between 22-23 kids available. To me this is the perfect number, 22 kids means I have 11 on 11 in our fit and freeze drills during football practice. If we have 22 members of the team, we can play our football plays against a scout team of 11 players.
