How do you keep up with music in your country of origin even if you have lived there for more than 10 years

How do you describe your life? I am an Russki teenager who came to America for a better future. In Russia, I was not rich. I was in the middle. This isn't me, per se. But my family. As a young adult in Russia the money wasn't an essential requirement. We needed to find ways to earn money. There were many different strategies. They were generally like drunks asking their friends for just a few dollars to buy their vodka bottle. The idea is similar as we'd go around looking for ways to earn some minutes to purchase bread. We would always be hungry.
So, I landed in America. It is far away from New York, Brooklyn and Brighton Beach. This place is similar to where I live. It's noisy and dirty, it smells like Russia, and people there are rude. I've spent a fair amount of money there, mostly in Russian restaurants and bookstores.

Books and music are two of my most cherished things. But as it happens recently it's easy to locate Russian books on Kindle. So I stopped purchasing hard copy books. Furthermore, I do not have enough space in my house. My wife is almost an avid collector. Therefore, I do all I can to prevent adding to her pile of stuff. While the stacks of books appeared intelligent the first few month, they became drab and boring when I realized there was plenty of room for my other items.

Music is an entirely different genre. Music is one of my most favorite things to listen to. My job requires me to travel often, so I listen to plenty of music. Also, as a Russian immigrant, I haven't learned to like any new music that I have discovered in the USA.. I'm not a fanof rap or hip hop. and all the trendy music that kids love to dance to.. Old Russian music is my favourite, especially the prison-type songs. They are still popular there even after all these years absent, and are not available on CDs, but rather cassettes in cars, and Youtube videos. Yes, they put everything on Youtube nowadays. You are able to find me on YouTube all day long, even after work.
After a few weeks I was able make a playlist that was more than 300 songs that I thoroughly love. This playlist is a treasure chest of music I listen to throughout the day. It has over 300 songs. But, when I need to listen to them in my car I don't have internet access. I require it for navigation and driving. I make the tracks at home. I've in the middle of my list and I record a couple of songs from Youtube to mp3 files, and then burn those MP3s to a CD using my laptop, and then I take the CD into the car and listen. The website can print a Youtube playlist, and then convert each song to mp3 to save on my personal computer. It's then simple to convert it to an audio CD. Sometimes I make mistakes and just make the wrong choice and make a data CD. It will not play on my old car stereo. When audio is recorded, it's incredible the way technology is working. You don't need to be connected to mp3s, all I need is a CD to insert into my car's stereo. The music of Russia was blasting in Manhattan while I drove around.
It's easy and inexpensive to save videos on Youtube as MP3 files. You can then download them onto your Smartphone. One of my friends connected his smartphone to the car stereo. It was playing great audio in just 2 seconds. He also was able stream Pandora radio as well as Spotify which means that you're not even requiring a lot of Internet to stream this. I think this is the next thing I'll try. However, I'll be sure to not utilize the wifi for free.
