Who was the Guard of Olympus' Gates?
Horae goddess of the seasons and of time, was the personification. She was the lord of the law and order, and she guarded the gates for Olympos. Her name, Hora, means "correct moment". Her birth brought forth maturity. Her role was to protect the gods and earth from harm. The Greeks believed that the Horae were the ones responsible for bringing prosperity to the land, and helping to increase fertility.

Mount Olympus was believed to be the place of worship for gods according to the Greeks. The mountain's beautiful climate made it the perfect spot to worship the Olympian gods. The God of the Seasons guarded the entrances. From there, Olympian gods would descend to earth to perform their duties. Sometimes, they intervened in human affairs.

The entrance to Mount Olympus was guarded by the god of the Seasons and the Horae. The Horae goddesses of time and seasons opened the gates to Olympians and welcomed them on their return. The twelve Olympians enjoyed a feast in the council chamber of the gods where they consumed nectar, ambrosia and other delights.

The gates of Mount Olympus were guarded by Typhon The goddess of the seasons. The God of the Seasons, or Horae was the one who opened the gates of Mount Olympus so the Olympians could travel to the earth and return safely. The Horae arranged the food for the twelve Olympians who were goddesses and gods. At times they would have Gods interfered with human activities. Zeus defeated the monster by striking each of the Typhon's hundred heads with thunderbolts.

Numerous gods were connected to the Mount Olympus gates. Zeus and Hera the sister of Zeus were the most prominent goddesses associated with the gates. The gods' council-chamber was located at the peak of Mount Olympus. The goddesses ruled over the twelve Olympians. He was both king and queen of the Olympians.


The gods of all races were guarding the gates of Mount Olympus. The goddesses were occasionally involved in human affairs, however they were not able to harm humankind. They were the queen and king of Olympus but they also were subject to the rule of other gods. Their presence on the mountain was vital because they had their own rules and powers.

Mount Olympus is the mythological residence of gods in Greek mythology. It was considered to be a sacred Macedonian capital that was dedicated to the Olympians. The mountainous peaks of the city were thought as a shield of the gods. Hephaestus, who was the architect of the Olympians, guarded them. Hephaestus was the father of the Olympians and also the designer of Dion was Hephaestus. The gate's pillars are constructed by the Greek gods. Later, temples and palaces were constructed.
