Even the Sun and the Moon belong to our Solar System!
Our Solar System belongs to a galaxy, the "Milky Way," and there are a total of 500 Solar Systems in this galaxy alone! Imagine that! If you thought your country was so huge, our planet Earth is so much huger, and if you thought Earth was super large, about 1 million Earths can fit in the Sun, and after the Sun are much more massive stars and galaxies, isn't it so fascinating?
Okay, enough of the Solar System talk, let's talk about our planets in the Solar System as well as its star, the Sun. There are 2 categories of planets, the inner planets or Terrestrial planets, consisting of Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars, and the other category, the outer planets or the Jovian planets, consisting of the gas giants, Jupiter, Saturn, and the ice giants, Uranus, and Neptune.
The Terrestrial or inner planets are the most near to the Sun, have small orbits as well rotate slowly around their orbits, don't have any rings, have a small number of moons, are formed with rocky material as well as have tough surfaces, they're actually also really small but they are similar in size. The smallest planet in size is Mercury with a small orbit as well and Mercury has no moons. Venus is the hottest planet reaching about 867 degrees Fahrenheit because of its carbon dioxide-filled atmosphere and its endless, harsh flows of boiling lava from its volcanoes or other lava-filled landforms. Imagine Earth's atmospheric pressure, 90 times that is Venus' atmospheric pressure, like wow, what? There is only one planet able to allow the survival of life in it till' today, and that, of course, is Earth, with all the things needed for life's living, such as land, animals, plants, air, water, and a suitable temperature for life. About 3.7 BILLION years ago, another planet that was able to allow life in it is Mars, since it had a watery or an icy surface back then. Mars surprisingly also has seasons like Earth, has an atmosphere filled with carbon dioxide, and has 2 moons.
The Jovian or outer planets have more distant orbits and spin speedily, numerous moons, are huge in size, have rings, have metallic and small cores with atmospheres that are thick, and their surfaces aren't solid. The Jovian/outer planets also consist of two categories as I said earlier, the gas giants, which are mostly made of hydrogen and helium, and the ice giants, containing, of course, ice, a mixture of methane and ammonia, and rock. The largest planet is Jupiter with 63 moons, a mostly helium and hydrogen-filled atmosphere, and a "storm" called the great red spot that has lasted for 300 plus years. Saturn, the 2nd largest planet, with a ring that is very wide but small in thickness, has about 60 moons, has huge storms, and an atmosphere mainly filled with helium and hydrogen. Somehow popular for uniquely tilting on its side is Uranus, with 11 rings and 27 moons, with an atmosphere mostly containing helium, hydrogen, and methane which gives it its blue-green-ish color. Neptune, the outermost planet among the 8 planets, one of the coldest planets, has 13 moons, has the strongest winds among the other 8 planets, and an atmosphere consisting of helium, hydrogen, and methane, which also gives it its blue-ish color.
Was that too much information for your brain? Or were you so interested that you didn't even realize you learned so much? Haha, I just hope you learned new things and enjoyed this video. Thank you for watching this video! Until then, see you!
