You know what they say regarding people who repeat the same thing but expect different results. This is often the standard definition of "insanity". Unfortunately it seems is if many of our fellow youth football coaches suffer from this player decimating affliction. They keep doing the same old thing year after year while ending up with same frustrating poor or choppy results. In my first few years coaching youth football I went through the following post-season assessment. My answer was always the same: I needed better football players to solve my problem. My thoughts were that I only needed a better x and y player, as well as kids with more motivation and size. It was always the children's fault. We would do well if we had a "good team".

To put yourself in the best position possible, I'd try to maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher. You run the risk of being rejected by schools because of your academic qualifications.

Aside from the usual equipments to practice for the game, football players needs their bodies strong enough to handle the challenges in the field.

If you have Division II ability and speed and you plan to attend USC or Notre Dame camps then you could be wasting a lot of time, especially if your senior year is in high school.

Make use of some of these online resources. There's a ton of websites and services out there that are designed to help increase exposure of high school athletes.

If you don't know where to start, you can Google "how do I find my passion?" Look through the various exercises you'll find on the internet. Don't expect the answers to your questions to be available immediately. It might take weeks or months to find the right answer. You should start this process as early as your sophomore or freshman year in high school (or earlier if you are able).
