Texas Hold Em Poker Tip - Play For Something
The dealer deals two cards to each person and deals one card to the person to his left. The person left of the button must put out a chip for the small blind (SB), the person to his left must put out chips for the BB. The blinds are required to start the action. The amount depends on the game limit. Limits can be as small as 2c/4c (when playing online) or as large as you like. The most popular limits are $1/$2 and $5/$5. For the moment, let's assume we are playing with 1-2 players. So the SB makes $1, while the BB makes $2.

If there are flushes or straights draws available then your opponent may be protecting a strong but vulnerable hand such as an over pair. If the flop is 'rags' the strong lead is more likely to be a weaker holding. Your opponent will decide how to respond, but a strong raise will almost always win the pot in this situation.

The feeler wager is similar to the opener. Even after-effects of the flop, it can happen. It may be possible to teach to find a "pass" bet if the hand is slow and everyone is just checking. This is done to "get the feel" for your opponent's hand strength. A lot of the time most of your opponents will fold. Sometimes, someone* will win out over you. You should at least have some information about your opponents to help you beat them.

The next stage in Texas Holdem poker is the Flop. The dealer starts by "burning? a card by placing the next face-up card on the table. These 3 cards form the flop. Each player now uses their 2 cards and the 3 on the table to make their 5 card poker hand.
