Simple Ideas That Can Make Your Wedding Memorable and Unique
One of the top viral videos of 2009 was "Jill and Kevin's Wedding Dance Entrance." As of today, it has been viewed almost 52 million times. This would have been a five-minute dance that took some planning and use. However, the idea was simple; "Let's dance in the church." It lets you know that a little creativity as well as a bit of planning and employ can make your wedding day memorable, not only in your case along with your future spouse, but for all of the attendees. After all, you would spend time picking your dress, the shades, the foodstuff along with the music; why not take some extra time for you to give the wedding a distinctive twist?
As a marriage DJ/MC/Event Coordinator, I've taken part in numerous weddings and still have seen some unique but simple-to-execute ideas. You may want to consider one of these simple ideas for your event, or they may just assist you to brainstorm your individual.
The James Bond garter removal
There was a groom who wished to result in the garter removal a very big affair. After the bride to be threw her bouquet, I required groom into the future remove her garter. He was nowhere found, but this was the program. Before Source started, I had connected strobes and police lamps within the room which were unnoticeable to the audience.
As the suspicion of his absence grew greater, I coordinated the lights inside the ballroom to become completely shut off. I then played the Mission: Impossible theme song and turned on the strobes and police lamps. One million candlelight spotlights shone all over the room, finally landing on groom, who was hiding in the corner. He then ran toward the bride, who had been relaxing in her chair for the oasis, slid across the floor like he was sliding into home plate, and found themselves underneath her dress to get rid of the garter.
Making "Wonderful World" more wonderful
The father of the bride was going to dance together with his daughter to the father/daughter dance to "Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. Before dad brought his daughter to the oasis, I had, quietly and discreetly, handed out the words on the song to each other guest and gave them brief instructions. As the song played along with the father and his awesome daughter danced, your entire wedding reception had gotten up and circled them for the oasis and sang the lyrics for them within the music which was playing. It was a touching and teary moment.
The Lawless Duel
The groom, Ben Lawless, and his awesome bride, Nicole, danced their first dance together. It ended abruptly since the best man, dressed like a "bad guy" jumped within a sword and challenged groom to your duel. This two-minute choreographed duel ended if the beautiful bride was victorious over evil after her groom was "injured."
Choreographed dances
One of the latest trends is brides and grooms choreographing their first dance. Usually the couples start with a slow, more common song and dance then get away in to a modern, fast, choreographed dance. There are many samples of this on YouTube. A few are "Wedding Thriller Dance," "T&A: Wedding Dance," and "Wedding first dance w/ surprise Jack Johnson Michael Jackson." All of these videos have an incredible number of views and only last a few minutes. However, they may be very memorable.
Simple but powerful
One of the most emotionally powerful ideas is arranging a DVD/PowerPoint presentation to your reception. This is simply a collage of photos of bride and groom. It starts with photos of each as children, eventually building to once they meet. It continues showing their life together, finally arriving on the big day. This presentation might be shown during coffee and cake and will include photos of the bride to be's and groom's friends. When you put music about bat roosting photos, it is extremely personal and emotional.
As you can see, a little little creativity and effort could make the wedding ceremony or reception stand out for anyone.
