As soon as I clutch the metal knob to open the door, an immediate shiver went up my spine. The moist atmosphere gave me goosebumps that alined my skin. I amble towards the edge as the soft breeze runs through my hair. There was a light smell of wet dirt in the sticky air. A thin layer of fog surrounded the tall trees in front of me. A luminous glow hid behind the trees as specks of light seep through their branches.
In the distance, I could hear a lion’s scandalous roar as it claims the jungle. A mellow melody is sung with strong vocals coming from birds at the very top of the trees. I wrap my fingers against the concrete ledge while gazing below. It was exactly like peering down from a Ferris wheel except, it was probably half its height. Beneath, there were chickens the color of the deepest darkest part of an ocean.
The chicks would follow their mother in a straight line while their tiny footprints left a trail on the frail dirt. Shrubs bordered the compact area they lived in. Outside of the fence, about a few meters away, there was a small pond with a blended color of purple, navy and green.
Leaves flutter down, towards the filthy water and softly lays itself floating above this humble area. Above all, this was pure paradise.
