1. Dokter adalah seseorang yang pada umumnya berprofesi sebagai penyembuh atau orang yang bertugas untuk menganalisa suatu masalah fisik maupun mental. Dokter memiliki banyak cabang, seperti; dokter hewan, dokter umum, dokter bedah. Namun pada umumnya, dokter memiliki tugas yang sama yaitu menyembuhkan suatu penyakit / keluhan kesehatan.
Biasa dokter beroperasi di rumah sakit. Rata-rata dokter memeriksa dan memberikan obat dengan dosis tertentu pada pasien, namun ada juga dokter yang bertugas melakukan riset suatu penyakit / masalah biologis tertentu. Di dunia muggle, seseorang dianggap dokter secara resmi melalui pendidikan khusus di universitas dan mendapatkan gelar.
2. Guru adalah seseorang yang berprofesi sebagai pendidik atau pengajar. Pada umumnya guru bekerja di sekolah atau universitas. Tugas mereka mendidik murid-murid untuk menambah pengetahuan dan menjadi teladan dalam pembentukan karakter.
Pada umumnya guru mengajar pada bidang pendidikan ilmu pengetahuan seperti matematika, bahasa, atau sains. Namun sebagian guru mengajar secara spiritual, membentuk karakter muridnya dengan mengajarkan moral dan nilai-nilai kehidupan. Walaupun di dunia muggle seseorang dikatakan guru setelah melalui proses pendidikan tertentu, namun seorang guru relatif. Dengan memberikan pengetahuan sudah disebut guru.
