Poker – The Game of Elegance
Poker was first played more then two thousand years ago in Ancient Mesopotamia. Poker became popular in England in 17th century. It was created to bridge the gap between high-salaried middle-class gamblers and the low-income lower class players. Soon, both the wealthy upper class and the poorer lower class players began to create their own versions of the game in an effort to steal the spotlight away the "more skilled" professionals. Poker gained popularity in America during the first half of the eighteenth centuries, when professional, successful players began playing and posting instruction on various websites.

There are hundreds upon hundreds of variations or "flavours" of poker today. The game has become more complex, strategic, and strategic with the increasing number of variants and styles. Each poker website focuses only on one aspect of the game. This could be the style of play, the variation or the rules and regulations. These aspects can vary from one site to the next. Poker's universal appeal is evident in the proliferation of sites.

While the Texas Hold'em and Omaha variations are the most popular, there are also versions like Five Card Stud, Caribbean Stud, Seven Card Stud, Nine Card Stud, and even more. Each version is just as exciting to play as the next. Poker can also be played against a computer or with a close friend. One important fact to keep in mind when playing poker: you are not playing for money; you are playing for fun.

One last note on poker: Whether you play in person or online, you must always know your chips, your opponents' chips, and the odds of winning. If you don’t know this information, you should get help. Sometimes, a professional is required to show you how to play at a table. Poker is a game that will improve with time. Go out and have fun playing poker, and you will be the best player you can be.
