How to keep up with the music of your country even if you've been living in the USA for 10 years

What's your life like? I am a Russki teenager who moved to America to build a better future. In Russia I wasn't wealthy. I was in the middle. It wasn't me however, my family. Young adults in Russia were not financially dependent as they grew up. Therefore we had no choice other than to figure out ways to make our own money. There were many different schemes, but most of them like asking your neighbors for some dollars to buy their vodka bottles. The idea is very similar. We'd find ways to earn a few dollars and purchase a loaf. We always had food cravings.


So, I reached America. There's nothing quite like New York City, Brooklyn, Brighton Beach. This place is similar to my home. It's noisy and dirty, it smells like Russian, and the people there are rude. I've spent a fair amount of money there, mostly in Russian restaurants and bookstores.

Music and books are two of my favourite things. Today, you can browse Russian books online, as was the norm in recent years. This is why I no longer buy hard copies books. My wife, who is almost a hoarder isn't able to fit much within her home and I try to stay clear of buying unnecessary stuff. After searching for the first few months stacks of books became an ugly sight, and I decided to move them to my garage where there's still room for my belongings.

However, music is a different thing. Since my work requires driving frequently, I listen to lots of music. Since I'm a Russian native, there's no way that I would like new music in the USA. I'm not a fanof hip hop or rap. The latest songs that children love to dance to. Old Russian music is my favorite particularly the songs with a prison theme. They are still popular there after 20 years away, and they are not something that gets on CDs, - mostly tapes that are found in cars, as well as YouTube videos. Yes, they put everything on Youtube nowadays. This means I can sit for hours on Youtube listening to music while I'm at work or when I come home from work.

So, after a few months I've made a lovely long playlist with over 300 songs that I absolutely enjoy. Since there are more than 300 songs, it's easy to get used to the music. When I need to listen to songs in my car, however, I don’t have enough internet. It's vital for driving, navigation as well as for my own personal enjoyment. I do all the preparation at home. I'm in the middle of my list I record a few songs from Youtube to mp3 files, and then burn those mp3s onto a CD with my laptop. Then I take the CD to my car and listen. It is also possible to use a Youtube playlist and print the songs. Each song is then converted to MP3 and stored on my computer. ytmp3 youtube converter Then you can transfer the file to an audio-CD. I don't have to be connected to the internet and I don't require any equipment to play mp3. I simply insert the CD into the car stereo slot, and there the music of Russia is booming throughout Manhattan at the time I get there as I drive around.

It's very easy to grab videos from Youtube and save the videos as mp3 files. You can then save them to your Smartphone. My friend hooked up his phone to his car stereo and it started playing top quality sound in just 2 seconds. He also was able stream Pandora radio and Spotify, so it's not that fast of Internet to stream this. I think this is my next step to try. Of course, I'll be careful not to utilize any wifi that is free.
