The Sacred Heart Church in New York City
https://thesacredheartchurch.org was founded in the early 16th century in France by Margaret Mary Alacoque, a nun of the Order of the Visitation of the Holy Virgin. Her apparitions occurred in the town of Paray-le-Monial during the feast of Saint John the Evangelist. The Sacred 'Heart' became an extremely popular devotion and spread throughout Europe. Initially, the church offered only mass on the first Friday of every month. The rite of recollection was followed by the reception of the Eucharist on the first Friday of each month.

In June 1875, the parish of the Sacred Heart was organized to serve territory that had previously been part of St. Augustine's parish. Father Mullen rented a hall at 165th Street and Lind Avenue and celebrated his first Mass there on June 20, 1875. Later, he purchased a wooden frame chapel from St. Rose of Lima in Lower Manhattan and had it transported in sections to the High Bridge.

In the ensuing years, the Sacred Heart Church grew in size and significance. Its design is reminiscent of a Roman Catholic parish church, with a large Gothic-style interior. Despite its modest size, the sanctum of the Divine and the Sacred Heart are the most famous icons in the church. The Sacred, or Divine, 'Heart of Christ', is venerated on the first Friday of each month. It is often considered a symbol of salvation and the ultimate goal of Christians.

The Sacred Heart Church was built in 1875. It is situated at 1253 Shakespeare Avenue in the Bronx. Elliott Lynch designed the Sacred, and the school is connected to it. In 1875, Father Mullen secured a hall at 165th Street and Lind Avenue. On June 20, he celebrated his first Mass in the hall. On August 26, 1875, a New York City Y.M.C.A. announced that the parish would be moving to Fire Island. The Y.M.C.A. bought a plot of land near Bowery to build a new church. The Y.M.C.B. was then selling Murray Hill Improvements and moving it to the High Bridge.

It was designed by Elliott Lynch, who also designed other Catholic churches and parish schools in the area. The Sacred-Heart church is connected to a school of the same name. The Y.M.C.A. 's new building was a result of the development on Fire Island. Its current location is a result of a map error that shows the Y.M.A. owned the plot.

The Sacred-Heart Church is a historical landmark located in Jersey City. Originally, the parish was named for Saint Augustine, a Catholic church founded in 1732 in Jersey City. The Sacred-Heart Parish was organized in June 1875 in the town of Lind Avenue. The first Mass was celebrated in the hall on June 20, 1875. In the same year, Father Mullen purchased a wooden frame chapel from the St. Rose of Lima parish in Lower Manhattan. The redevelopment plan included only the school buildings at that time.

This church was disassembled and moved in sections to the site at High Bridge.

The Sacred Heart Church was founded in 1875 and serves the area of the East Village in New York City. The parish served the area that had previously been served by St. Augustine. The hall was first used on June 20, 1875. The church was built with a wooden frame chapel from the St. Rose of Lima parish on the Lower Manhattan waterfront. The wooden frame was moved to the Sacred Heart Church's site and was used.

The Sacred Heart Church was built in 1877 by the nuns of the Good Shepherd monastery. The parishioner had received messages from the Sacred Heart and had it rebuilt. She wrote a letter to Pope Leo XIII requesting that the first Friday of every month be designated as a day of prayer. After that, she was granted permission to build a new church on the site. The current gym's parking lot would be converted into a residential building.
