The Attorney General will investigate the possibility of General Zapateiro's possible involvement with political activity.
On April 25, 2019, on Monday General Eduardo Enrique Zapateiro will be notified by the Attorney General's Office of the starting of an investigation preliminary against him in connection to the possibility of his involvement in politics.

Different political parties weighed in on this issue and expressed their opinions prior to the general vote and the candidate. The Office will also investigate allegations of political involvement. This includes Zapateiro's involvement with the mayors, Daniel Quintero and Cartagena William Dau, Claudia Lopez, Bogota mayor; Carlos Mario Marin, Manizales; Ibague Andres Hurtado and Caqueta Arnulfo Gasca governor, among others.
