You have a good eye for recognizing lift systems! Yes, we do have a drawer slide system. We use two sets of Sugatsune drawer slides, one on top of the other, to lift our arm mechanism. Our lift motor has a 1 to _ gear ratio, and the lift system is built in a way such that as the lift motor lifts the first set, the second set lifts simultaneously. In each set, the base of the slide is screwed down while the sliding part is connected to the chain, so as the chain moves, the sliding part does as well. [The second set is attached to a chain, which is screwed to the robot frame on the bottom, so as the first set of slides is lifted, the second chain moves as well, since the top is moving up but the bottom is stationary, which then lifts up the slides.] (should we include that or leave it out)
If your motor is not able to lift the slide up, it may be a few different problems. One potential problem is insufficient torque on your lift motor. If your motor can't push up the weight of the slides, you might want to ensure that with the current gear ratio, you will have enough torque to do so (a light arm and bucket mechanism also helps). (I don't know what else to add down here, if you have other suggestions you can add them)
