Federico Gutierrez, the ex-mayor of Medellin was elected as the center-right candidate. He got more than 1.7million votes.
Fico Gutierrez is a former mayor of Medellin and was born in Medellin in 1974. Since 2003 , he has begun his political career as a councilor in his home town, and is designated as the Municipal Youth Councilor and Municipal Planning Councilor of Medellin. Gutierrez is a certified civil Engineer from the University of Medellin. Furthermore Gutierrez holds a specialization Degree as a Senior Manager and another one in Political Science both at the Pontifical Bolivarian University.
Federico Gutierrez did not just concentrate on politics during his career. In reality it was his job as a Consultant at the HGI Consultores company and a Resident Engineer with the Company Vifasa S.A. A glass and construction firm. Fico Gutierrez defends his family. He is married and has two children.

A new presidential race
In the fall of 2021, the so called Experience coalition was formed and later changed into the Team for Colombia. Fico Gutierrez was the Center-right coalition and won the election. Paola Holguin, a Democratic Center congressman, ran again for a new seat in this 2022.
In addition, he frequently stated that his administration model was based on public management for citizens and that political participation is a vocation. Gustavo Petro got the second-highest percentage of votes. "Fico," as he prefers to be called is Antioquia's representative for right.
