Upcoming Kusto Group Project Receives Japanese Expert Certificate
Kusto Group's Koktobe City was the first project in Kazakhstan that was granted a Japanese expert certificate for earthquake security.

The construction of Kusto Group’s Koktobe City is moving smoothly and is expected to be completed at the end of 2023.

The international holding firm is building a city within a city away from the Kazakhstani capital city of Almaty.

How Koktobe City will overcome earthquakes
Kusto Group put a lot into Koktobe City.

"In the Koktobe Project We invest a significant amount of funds in earthworks. We put piles 30 metres below the homes and then compact the soil each 30 cm. Kusto Group wants residents to be secure at home, since earthquakes are commonplace in the Almaty area.

All buildings are four to five stories high.

He is a member the Japanese state commission on buildings and earthquakes.

Kusto Group received guidance from the Japanese expert in matters such technical and structural design and construction.

Koktobe City became the first Kazakhstan real estate project to receive the Japanese earthquake safety expert certification.

Murat Utemisov says, "It’s important for us to offer the best quality homes that will be able to be firmly in the ground regardless of the force of an earthquake."

Kusto Group eyes Europe
While the seismic stability lives up to Japanese standard, Kusto Group has looked at Europe for elevators as well as heating equipment, engineering equipment cables, pumps steel-plastic pipes, façade material, door fittings, and much more.

" All of these contribute to a pleasant space for living and we wanted that to continue. We believe Almaty is Central Asia's most European, free and intelligent city. We therefore wanted to replicate that feeling in this city.

The apartments of Koktobe City will also be equipped with surveillance cameras, a facial recognition system and built-in smart locks to maximize security within the neighborhood.

The school in Koktobe City is based on Finnish ideas of education, it has also been inspired by Europe. Jani Ristimaki, a Finnish architect designed the school.

Each activity will have its own room within the school. There are rooms specifically to be used for singing, drawing or playing instruments and even team sports.

They can be used in the school's after-hours activities or as an extracurricular event.

"Today, every family needs to travel extensively in order to bring their children to various additional activities like swimming or drawing. We decided to unify everything under one roof. Murat Utemisov explains that the school's buildings comprise separate blocks for preparatory and secondary schools, the Budokan centers for sports and arts, which has an 25-meter swimming pool as well as a multi-functional gymnasium well-equipped music and choreography spaces, as well as pottery as well as sewing and pottery sections.

"School infrastructure, such as sporting fields or sports halls in Finland is only for students up to 6 PM. After that, they are available for all. Residents can participate in sport and art activities in this area," Yerkin Tatishev (founder of Kusto Group), adds.
