But Osborne had lost his mid- to late 70s teams to Oklahoma and they were often losing in Bowl Games. While NU's teams were winning 9-10 of their games every year, this wasn't the goal. It was to compete for National Championships.

It makes sense, however, to practice or scrimmage alongside a team with bigger running backs the week before the game. If your team has a similar type of running back to mine, it is unlikely that they have any other big athletes to practice against. To build your team's confidence, you have to find a way to get them to practice against a bigger player.

I'm now in the process of doing research to fix areas of deficiency in our program. I'm working to develop better methods of communicating with my coaching staffs. I feel we are not leveraging the talents of each coach as well as we could or utilizing the unique skill set each of our coaches innately has as a human being. I am searching for answers everywhere, from great coaching legends to innovators and captains of American Industry. We are also leaning too much on our coordinators to do all the basic reads, adjustments and game planning. There has to be an easier and more efficient way of doing things.

If you have Division II ability and speed and you plan to attend USC or Notre Dame camps then you could be wasting a lot of time, especially if your senior year is in high school.
