4 penyihir hebat yg membangun sekolah hogwarts yaitu Godric gryffindor, Helga hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclwa, dan Salazar Slytherin. Nama-nama dari 4 penyihir itu membuat masing-masing asrama yang bernama gryffindor,hufflepuff,ravenclwa, dan slytherin. Setiap asrama mempunyai kriteria tersendiri untuk menjadi anggota asrama. Contoh nya Gryffindor hanya menerima orang-orang yang berhati berani,jujur,ulet dan memiliki sifat/sikap kepahlawanan, Hufflepuff menerima orang-orang yg adil,setia,bekerja keras dan loyal, Ravenclaw menerima orang-orang yg cerdas,mau belajar dan cendikawan, dan yg terakhir slytherin adalah asrama untuk orang-orang yg ambisiu, licik dan cerdik.
Dari sekitar 1600-1700, penyihir mengambil tindakan u/menyingkirkan muggle dari komunitas penyihir para penyihir membuat kerahasiaan dari dunia sihir dengan dijaga ketat dari para muggle dan dunia sihir tdk akan bisa dilihat oleh mata yg tdk mempunyai kekuatan ilmu sihir ahun2 terakhir, hanya beberapa penyihir yg mencoba menghentikan permusuhan antara 2 kelompok dan mmencoba untuk mempersatukan kembali namun sampai sekarang, hal itu blm mmenunjukkan kemajuan yg begitu pesat karena hal itu hanya didukung sedikit penyihir yg menginginkan keadaan kembali seperti dulu.
