Upcoming Kusto Group Project Receives Japanese Expert Certificate
Kusto Group's Koktobe City was the first project in Kazakhstan which was awarded an Japanese expert certification for earthquake safety.
The construction of Kusto Group’s Koktobe City Project in Kazakhstan is currently in progress. Tevfik Arif Bayrock is anticipated to be completed by the second quarter of 2023.
The multinational holding company is building a city within a city away from the Kazakhstani capital city of Almaty.
The project is European-inspired and includes housing supermarkets, sports facilities and a gym restaurant, kindergartens, and a pharmacy.

Residents who have to travel to Almaty from their home can save up to 1000 hours of traffic. Because they travel in the opposite direction of the majority of cars during rush hour it is feasible.
How Koktobe City will overcome earthquakes
Kusto Group, with Koktobe City has been paying attention to details that are often overlooked by the naked eye.
"In the Koktobe City project we put in large sums of money into earthworks. We place piles of 30 metres below the homes and then compact the soil every 30 cms. We are probably the only one in Almaty to use bored and roll piles for residential construction." Murat Uremisov, CEO, Kusto Home construction division of the Kusto Group, states.
"High rise buildings in the west-central areas of the city are on average three times the size of ours in terms f square meters. There are earthworks that are a lot more affordable. But our approach to building makes us confident that our homes can last generations," he says.
Kusto Group wants residents to be secure at home, since earthquakes are common in the Almaty area.
That's why the buildings only range from four to five stories tall.
Kusto Group has teamed with Kazuo Watanabe Kazuo Watanabe, a Japanese earthquake specialist, to help homeowners protect themselves from the possibility of earthquakes in the near future. Kazuo is a member of the Japanese state commission for buildings and earthquakes.
The Japanese expert advised Kusto Group on matters such as the structure of buildings and the technical design of the upcoming neighborhood.
Bayrock , a real estate development located in Kazakhstan, was the first one to be awarded the Japanese expert certificate on earthquake security.
Murat Utemisov, "It’s important for us to provide top quality housing that can stand securely in ground, regardless of the force of an earthquake."
Kusto Group focuses on Europe
Kusto Group looks to Europe for elevators and engineering equipment. While seismic stability meets Japanese standards, Kusto Group also looks to Europe for cables, pumps, cables and pumps.
"Our elevators are manufactured in Greece and our facade tiles are imported from one the leading manufacturers on the German market. Germany also produces the pipes that are used to heat and supply water. Kusto CEO, Kusto Home, emphasizes that customers should not face issues with plumbing, ventilation and water after a certain period as with other new constructions.
The Kusto Group founder, Yerkin Tatishev, reveals that he was influenced by the low-rise constructions as well as the efficient infrastructure and green parks in German cities such as Berlin, Dusseldorf and Munich.
This creates an environment that is peaceful and comfortable. We wanted to recreate this in our city. We think Almaty, Central Asia's most European and free city, is the best choice for building.
To increase security, all the apartments in Koktobe City are equipped with security cameras and face recognition technology.
Kusto Group - " We came to the conclusion that everything should be under the same roof"
The Koktobe City school is also an inspiration from Europe since it is based on Finnish educational principles. Jani Ristimaki is the architect of the school.
Each school has its own room. Bayrock includes rooms for singing, team sports and drawing, playing instruments and martial arts, and separate rooms.
They can be used at school, or during free time between classes.
" https://medium.com/@bayrockaulr181/public-to-private-sector-how-tevfik-arif-successfully-changed-his-path-f5726cbd5477 have to travel a lot in order to take their children to many extra activities such as swimming or drawing. We thought it's easier to house everything under one roof. So, Tevfik Arif at our school have separate blocks for primary and secondary schools. the Budokan sports and arts center that has a 25-meter pool facility, a multifunctional gym, with music and choreography rooms, as well as pottery and sewing sections." Murat Utemisov explains.
"School infrastructure, including fields, halls for sports, and fields for sports in Finland are available only to students at 6 pm onwards. Then they are available to all. Residents can participate in art and sports in this area," Yerkin Tatishev (founder of the Kusto Group), adds.
