How do you stay up to date with music from your home country even when you've been living in the USA for the past 10 years

How are you doing? I am an Russki boy who came to America searching for an improved lifestyle. In Russia I didn't have a lot of money nor was I in the middle class. Not me, per-say however, my family. As a young adult in Russia there was no money an option. We had to find ways to earn money. There were many different methods. The majority of them looked like alcoholics who asked their friends for some money to purchase their vodka bottles. The idea is very similar. We'd come up with ways to earn a few bucks and even purchase bread. We would always be hungry.

And so I made it to America and have and have been here for some time and seen the entire East Coast from Boston all the way down to Miami and Key West and all the up to the middle states. It's a long way away from New York, Brooklyn and Brighton Beach. The city is quite similar to my home. It's noisy filthy, smells like Russia, and people who live there are rude. I've spent a lot of money there, mostly visiting Russian restaurants, book and music shops.

I am a huge fan of music, just as I like reading books. However, as of recently it's simple to find Russian books on Kindle. So I stopped purchasing hard-copy books. Furthermore, I do not have enough space in my home. My wife is almost an avid collector. As such I do what I can to not add to her clutter. The stacks were pretty nice initially, but then they started to appear sad. I finally moved them into my garage, which has room for my stuff.

However, music is different. Since I am a driver and work in a car, it is essential me to listen to lots of music. Even though I'm a Russian-born immigrant, I don't like American music. I don't really like rap, hip hop, rock, metal and pop. It's all the modern music that kids love to dance to. I am a huge fan of Russian music, and songs that were written in jail. These songs remain popular in Russia even after 20 years. They're not on CDs - they are mostly tapes in cars and YouTube videos. Youtube is a must these days. So I can spend hours having Youtube playing music after returning home from work or after work.

So, after some time I came up with a playlist that includes more than 300 songs I absolutely love. Having this treasure that I listen to every both at night and day I'm not having any trouble getting used to music, since there are 300 songs. That's a lot. However, when I want the songs to be heard in my car, I don't always have internet access. I need it to drive, to navigate. I prepare the songs at home. I'm in the middle of. I take a few songs on Youtube as mp3 files. Following that, I burn those MP3s to CDs using my computer. After that I take the disc to my car to listen. The website I came across that can download a Youtube playlists and print all songs on the playlist, and each one can be then converted to MP3 and saved on my home computer. Then it's easy to transfer it to audio CD. Sometimes, I just make data discs, but it doesn't play on the car stereo. It's amazing how technology works when audio is recorded. I don't even require an internet connection to listen to mp3. I just insert the CDs into my car stereo, and music from Russia is blasting in Manhattan as I drive through.

It's simple and affordable to download Youtube videos as mp3 and then save them on your Smartphone. My friend connected his iPhone to his car stereo and within seconds the device was playing premium sound. He also was able to stream Spotify as well as Pandora radio. It's not even requiring a lot of internet connection. I think this is the next thing I'll test. Of course, I'll be careful to use free wifi.
