What are you doing? I am an Russki young guy who came to America to seek a better future. In Russia I wasn't wealthy and definitely not in the middle class. My family was not my own per se. As an early adult in Russia the money wasn't an essential requirement. We needed to find ways to earn money. There were many different methods. They were generally like alcoholics who asked their friends for a few dollars to buy their vodka bottles. The idea is similar. We would find ways to make some quick dollars and buy a loaf. We were always hungry.
So, I made it to America. There's nothing like New York, Brooklyn or Brighton Beach. The city is quite like my home. It's loud, it's dirty, it's full of Russian language, and people are rude, well it's a typical Russian city bliss. I spent quite a lot of money in Russia, mostly to go to Russian restaurants, bookstores and music stores.
Books and music are two of my most cherished things. It turns out that it's easy to find Russian literature via Kindle. This is why I no longer buy hard-copy books. In addition, I don't have enough space in my home. My wife is almost an over-seller. As such I do what I can to prevent adding to her clutter. Although stacks of books looked smart for the first couple of months but they grew dull and uninteresting as I realized that I had room for my other stuff.
However, music is a different thing. My job involves an extensive amount of driving, which is why I am constantly listening to music. While I'm a native Russian immigrants, I'm not a fan of American music. I don't really like hip hop, rap metal, rock and pop. I don't also like the new-age stuff kids like to dance too. I really like old Russian music, also the songs from jail that are especially suited to Russian music world. They're still popular after 20 years I've been away, and they are not on CDs, but rather tapes that are found in cars, as well as YouTube videos. They do put everything on Youtube these days. Therefore, I can stay up all night on Youtube , listening to music while I'm at work or when I get home after work.
So, after a few months I've put together a long playlist that includes over 300 songs that I really am in love with. Having this treasure in my head all day and night, I have no problem getting used to music, since there are 300 songs, that's a lot. But, when I need to listen to them in my car I do not have internet access. I require it for driving and navigation. Therefore, I make the preparation at home. Now that I am in the middle of the list, I take some songs on Youtube and then convert them into MP3 files. Then I burn the mp3s to a CD using my laptop. I then take the CD to my car and listen to it in the. This site can print out a Youtube playlist and convert each song to MP3 and save it on my computer at home. It's then easy to convert it to an audio CD. Sometimes, I'm not careful and create the wrong choice and make a data CD. It won't play on the old stereo in my car. However, when the audio is recorded, it's fascinating to see how technology works. I don't have to be connected, I don't need any devices to play MP3. I just insert CD into the car stereo slot, and there the music of Russia is booming throughout Manhattan at the time I get there during my drive.
It's easy to download videos on Youtube and save the videos as MP3 files. It is then possible to put them on your Smartphone. My friend connected his phone to the car stereo and the phone started playing high quality sound within less than two seconds. He also could stream Spotify and Pandora radio. It's not a huge undertaking and doesn't require much Internet. I think this is my next step to try. Of course, I'll be careful to use free WiFi.
