If I was in hostile territory, I didn't have the Internet access to view my presentation. How I rectified the situation

This was my personal worst business trip fail. We were heading south to meet with one the biggest oil tycoons in the Middle Eastern region. I was among the top involved in the venture and was therefore given one of the stages. This was my chance to demonstrate to my manager that I'm prepared for the big time and am ready to play games with the big girls. It may sound offensive, but I was talking about adult girls. or, better yet, business women.

It went well. I was informed the exact date and time of the piece that was mine. This was due to the fact that I was the one responsible for on-site security of the digital emergency room that was run by the local insanely wealthy businessman. I won't mention names or tituls within this story as I don’t want people to find out who I was writing about. The purpose of the demonstration was to simulate a real-life sequence of events that would cause the businessman to retreat to his panic area with family members close to him and a small force. I originally intended to demonstrate the concept, and show how to deal with these major forces.


We've all gone underground and into the dark space. The room was dark in order to hide the armaments that were concealed within the walls. This was quite a frightening circumstance we found ourselves in. But lets just get thru this, and I am now setting up for the powerpoint part of the presentation. What? There's no Internet. Are you kidding me? Lockdown has already begun and there's no way to get out and access the email that holds your presentation. I'm not doing this the first time. I went online to Youtube to convert the mp3 files and, in addition to copying the audio of the video to improve my memory of reading it on paper I downloaded the mp4 file. I downloaded it accidentally to find the best audio format. However, I have the exact video on my computer, and I require it.

I was extremely lucky. Unforeseen circumstances prevented me from connecting to the Internet. I was able save the presentation to then re-record it with audio and video. I was able to memorize the majority of the material. It was a short speech of 3 minutes, but it conveyed layers of security and confidence. We have signed 47 new customers of higher caliber, with contracts that total hundreds of thousands. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them.
