"I can't trust you anymore dad, you're a monster!"
I screamed then I did it. I did what I promised myself I would never do, I killed him. I couldn't take it, after years of the abuse, drugs, and rape he's put he through I ended it in one shot. I watched him fall to the floor into a puddle of his own blood. Tears started to form in my eyes as he layed there limp, frail, and lifeless.
"Come on S, we have to go" Sam said, her voice barely above a whisper. She wrapped her shaky arms around me tightly.
We unwrapped our arms from each other and ran to the car. The sirens got louder which could only mean they were getting closer. We had to get out of here and fast. The police had been after me for 2 years now, ever since I robbed a bank. My life was messed up, I was forced to stuff so bad that I will never forgive myself for actually doing it. He has always told me that he would stop but he never has. He only made it worse. Starting from the day my mom passed away from cancer my dad changed. It was never this bad though. He has never forced me to try and kill my only friend Sam. Luckly we both got away.
"Sara? Sara...umm.. are you ok?" My head shot up to look at her bright blue eyes.
"What? Oh ya I'm sorry I just got lost in thought, again," I stated.
"Ok, anyways I said should where should we head too?" she asked looking over at me and away from the gravel pavement we call the road.
"How about Iowa?" I asked. She nodded her head.
"It's nothing but cornfields and tractors so they'll never expect us to go there" She replied laughing.
