Freshmen year of college is one of the more difficult challenges I have faced.
My time at Towson University was a unique experience because I was a student
athlete and apart of the Varsity Football team. My typical day started with
waking up around 5 am for morning workouts, going to class, attending study hall
and attending tutoring sessions. I quickly learned the importance of
prioritizing assignments and how to effectively manage my time. This allowed to
to stay focused on my school work and create a strong work ethic in the
classroom and on the field. Unfortunately, the services provided and the
amplitude in which the academics were presented did not fulfill my preconceived
notions about Towson. My four to five years as an undergraduate should involve
pushing beyond previous known boundaries. From my experience attending Towson
University, I have gained confidence in my academic skills and strongly believe
that if I were a student athlete at University of Maryland, I could push myself
to new heights through academics and as a Terrapin student-athlete. The
resources provided at the University of Maryland will further my knowledge of
the human body and continue my path to being a chiropractor.
