Surfing can be done in any weather condition (except lightening), but it is best to do it in great conditions. If possible, plan your surfing vacation around conditions. The souvenir stalls were our first stop on Bali, as with any other place of interest. The hawkers were very stoic and we enjoyed a pleasant few hours looking at the boats while the grandkids fished. Although almost any edible fish found in Bali's lakes and rivers has been caught and eaten, a man helped the fishermen cast out by putting something that looked a bit like a mushyworm on their hooks. In just over an hour, they caught twelve fish about the same size and shape as a large penny. After their time was up, they tossed all of them back into the lake. I don?t think the locals were too pleased with this. They probably sold these fish to aquariums.

It's important to remember that these dolphins are fast. It's more like you're hunting for a glimpse of a dolphin than a relaxing cruise where the dolphins play alongside you. This was my previous thought, but it is very hectic. But fun! It's quite amazing to see them. Get your camera ready! It was impossible to get a photograph of them for me.

Next morning, we awoke to the sounds from chickens & goats, mixed with some thunder rumblings. After a delicious breakfast, we headed east to Singaraja (the second largest city in Bali), and then on to the east coast. Most of this time we just kept the sea on our left and followed signs that said Amlapura. Amlapura was near the place I had planned to spend my second evening, so we followed any sign that indicated Amlapura, just like yesterday's signs for Singaraja.
