How to keep bored at bay while working for long hours as a night security guard in an underground facility

The times are hard. The new world of gig economy is something I'm finding it difficult to navigate like I used to before. I was doing very well prior to the outbreak of the pandemic and, in addition to my primary job as a dental assistant I was required to take an evening security job at a local machine manufacturing plant close to my home. It is mostly automated. Only 2 engineers and myself are part of the night-crew. I've got an emergency number I can dial in the event of any problem or if the machinery suddenly stops working. Then , I contact engineers or call outside line for more engineers. I don’t do anything. It's true that they aren't producing anything of value here. Night guard is only an attendant at a switchboard.

However I really enjoy it. It's quiet, I am an extremely spooky sleeper. I wake myself up from too much gas release at night, but here I thrive, it's so quiet and machines provide a memorable white noise atmosphere, maybe it's something I should explore at home: a more calming ambient.. That's why I sleep every night here in a state of sleep and waiting for the time to wind down so I can go home earlier. The evenings can be monotonous so I always explore new ways to make them pass more quickly. I've spent the past 2 weeks perfecting the dance I watched on Tik Tok. While it's not difficult it's very difficult for me to recreate the dance. It was invented by a young Tik Tok girl. I'm not sure what I should refer to this stuff as. I am too old.
I've been trying various car-fixing videos lately. Even though I don't have a way for applying them directly to my car, it’s fun to watch other people’s cars get unstoppable. The same is true for DIY videos, they are often quite informational and easy to view. So I began to run across another issue. I discovered that my internet would not start working within a few hours. Therefore, I was unable to perform any useful tasks or even watch videos. I discovered the method to download Youtube videos onto my mobile. After that, even though the internet was gone for hours, I was able to effortlessly watch the DIY videos via my smartphone. It doesn't matter if you stream it from some website or other online. If you download it at home and later watch it on your smartphone in the absence of internet access or any other type of online. The same applies to DVR for streaming online videos.

My pure delight in watching new episodes and movies directly to my laptop, is proof of the effectiveness of television. My laptop is better than my phones and the speakers I carry it to work. I signed up with HULU and Netflix. They permit both to download their app. After a few minutes, dependent on the length of the show, its quality options, and other variables the show will be downloaded to the device. This will allow it to be accessible anytime, anyplace, even without internet access. It will take you about 15 minutes to stream TV however it also lets you catch up on any episode that you have missed last night.
To help make my time go by faster I've come across lots of educational and enjoyable materials I can print from home. YouTube's webinars are great. However, it's tough to stay focused on the topic when you're interrupted several times. If you're aware of what I mean... In such situations I once again try to prepare at home, and download YouTube video as mp4 file to my laptop and then watch anytime at work, no restrictions on wifi, no wifi needed at all The file is stored on my laptop as a DVR, nothing can go bad even if the internet isn't perfect and it's not needed in my situation.
My son sometimes goes working with me. It's those days when my wife works night shifts, and it is difficult to stay at home with our son. So I accompany him and put him on the computer screens and he sleeps quickly. I then give him my laptop, which includes a couple of music videos I just downloaded, and he watches the young and crazy artists on screen. I am happy to do my work on the phone, however he wakes up. It's how we work together better, by doing what we like.. He loves to go with me. This could be due to the fact that he stays up late as children would like to do.
