It is crucial to prepare for travel with kids. There is no free WiFi available.

It was true.. My kids believe that the WiFi in the mountains isn't very strong. Even though it's a tiny hill, it's within the normal cell range so my children have to wander around looking for better internet. My wife and I set up up our small camp site. The area is ideal for us to stay for several days. There's a small river nearby , which provides clean water although there's no water available. Yes.. my wife and I can't stay in a tent without water, so we bring our own.

My children are now back on social media, while I enjoy the panorama. This hill is not that huge, it's just surrounded by larger ones. It is a hill we visit occasionally to get closer to Mother Earth. The trips are my absolute delight even though I'm not the one who initiates these trips. It's my wife that insists of taking me out, partially because she knows how much I love being out in the wild. However, my children, they're a different story entirely. Internet can sometimes go down. Your streaming song can be disrupted by something in the cloud or other magnetic movements for up to one minute before it resumes. It's annoying for me, even though it happens a lot.

So, after several trips that were without internet, and when our normal internet was constantly dropping in and out of service we decided to prepare. We, i.e. my wife and me, had prepared for the eventuality that our children don't have access to internet for more that 10 minutes. Two sources of endless entertainment were created, even if the Internet isn't available when we are camping. Another device was a tablet that contained music videos and the top chart songs of the moment. ytmp3 Our preferred Youtube MP3 converter was able to extract songs from YouTube videos, then convert them into an mp3 file and then download them onto the tablet. It can work with playlists too making it an easy process even though it's quite lengthy. It's nice, isn't it? It didn't make any noise.


The second tablet was mostly television shows and cartoons that we have downloaded through Hulu or Netflix. While the quality isn’t the best, it is good enough to have numerous seasons and cartoons like Family Guy, Disenchantment, and Breaking Bad. It was very entertaining and quite easy too.. Just install the apps, enable downloading for offline viewing, and download episodes, then mark them as downloaded and then leave the app will take care of everything on its own. Tablet 2 was brought in either one or 2 trips following tablet 1. However, when it finally came to join us in The Wild, there was no stopping my children from using it and watching TV shows. There were some DIY videos I added for things like setting up the tent or the skinning of fresh fish. These are things you might not do at home. These videos were copied from Youtube and converted into MP4 and then downloaded onto my tablet. It's much more convenient to have videos on your tablet at all times.

These two tricks have kept my children entertained for 4 family camping trips. They even don't mind coming out any more, as they are aware that tablet 2 will aid them in getting through the boring time and take it home once they're prepared. I've never been happier. That's all I want, being with my family.
