Here's a follow up of my previous comment/short story (no jokes this April Fools)

A sound came from the bushes, but EXE didn't pay it any mind, he was still allowing himself to sink into the realization of his new current status. It wasn't until a small blur came rushing towards him did EXE start to panic, he tried to stop or dodge, but he was rooted to the log, and as a result was bowled over it from the impact, looking down he gained startled eyes at who hit him...

It was Sunky...All teary eyed...and crying...

EXE tried to shake his head, but his mind blanked at the sight in front of him, Sunky crying should be impossible it could never be a part of his character, he was the gang's token wholesome guy for a reason. EXE wanted to ask what Sunk was doing here, but the tiny cartoonish hedgehog buried his small head into Faker's chest like he just found a lost family member...

EXE heard the sound of some ethereal pulse and hovering from above his head, it was courtesy of, Tails Doll...and Fleetway?!

"Over here! We found him!" The yellow flying hedgehog called out, Footsteps came rushing towards them, he couldn't believe his eyes at who came.

It was the whole gang...

Lord X, Tails, Eggman, Knuckles, Majin, Sanic, even Sonic.EXE were here. Everyone gathered around him and Sunky, and all EXE could do was continue to stare at all their faces in disbelief.

Just like Sunky, they were wearing expressions that didn't feel natural to what the gang's always been depicted as having. Sonic didn't have his malicious grin nor his teeth-clenched glare of anger, Lord X lacked his signature yellow--toothed grin of awareness, he felt the soul trio's anguish with just the despair on their undead faces, Tails Doll was grounded in a limp position near Sonic, and even Majin wasn't smiling. If all the EXEs, even Majin, Sunky, and Sanic weren't smiling, then the world, no, the entire universe has gone to shit.

Fleetway, even Fleetway looked affected by this as he was down on the ground with his back turned to the group, his arms crossed.

EXE wanted to understand why, why everyone came for him, why they went out of their way to find him, he didn't deserve to be with them, not after what happened. Looking back he saw Sunky quivering up at him, still crying, a pleading gaze, almost as if begging him to not go away.

EXE was trying to hold it together, he couldn't let them see him at his weakest, he had to be strong because he was supposed to have God Speed, he had to look the part of a god, act the part of a god, and proudly proclaim himself as a-

His thoughts were interrupted as a warm being embraced him and Sunky, turning his eyes sideways, he saw it was Sonic.

The Dam broke.

He began to cry and silently sob into both of his fellow hedgehogs wanting to say so many "I'm Sorrys" that he could fill up an entire jar. The others soon joined in on the hug, and EXE found himself surrounded by warmth, an unfamiliar and alien sensation just as much so as the sadness he now feels.

EXE allowed himself to cry a little more before raising his head to look at Fleetway, who gave a small, subtle nod. EXE could've sworn he felt what should be his heart warm up with catharsis for the first time that day.

After the group hug dispersed, Sonic.EXE and Sunky offered a hand to EXE to come with, EXE gloomily glanced back at the God Speed CD at the front of the log, returned his attention up front, taking a deep breath...

...and tentatively grabbed each of their hands into his own, allowing them to lead.

Perhaps being with them would be better than letting himself be alone with only his thoughts, he might not have his universe or be a god, but with the crew? he had a home, and something that you thought would never come to life with Sonic.EXE of all characters.

A Family, a family of deities, yes, but a family nonetheless.

At the thought of it, EXE found out, he actually quite liked it.

'maybe the heavens did give me an answer' he thought as he was still being led through the forest and into a new chapter of his life, one that he thought had been ended, but as it turned out, was only beginning.
