Are you planning to take a long vacation away from your home? You should make sure to have the necessary digital devices that you require prior to the time when WiFi stops working.
This is a tale of my most recent excursion to the Arctic via boat. It sounded incredible, National Geographic trip through the ice, and back with polar bears and other wildlife. There was going to be ice where the eyes can see snow, ice, and ice everywhere. Machines made by humans would have to fight the elements to break through the frozen north. It sounded like an epic task, an epic battle with the north, the weather, the pole.

I was told to take with me all the technological equipment I could fit into my luggage. I did take my laptop along and also added a large display to increase the workspace. The staff assured me that the electricity was not a problem. The idea of the first test was unconvinced to me.. I was unaware that I'd be disconnected from my internet two days into my 14-day trip , and then disappear from Earth for the next 10 days. It occurred. I was stunned. Every travel, however far or difficult will result in a loss of connection from technology. I didn't plan for the time off, and not only was I dealing with an unfinished project that I needed to attend to over the next week, but I also had other tasks to do.

There is no need to leave the house. Internet is all around, so if your home network is having issues, there are many nearby McDonalds that offer free WiFi access. You can also bring your laptop and relax in Starbucks throughout the day. There is no café, restaurant or cafe will aid you up north. They're a long way from the closest shack with the electricity produced by a weak generator. There's not a free Internet. There are two options to get out in such circumstances. You can either be offline or have an internet connection via satellite.

I can't afford to purchase the satphone as it's expensive, especially for Internet. However, I plan to build a huge audio and video collection for the upcoming time, before venturing across the globe without Internet access. Last time, I only had two tracks. Both were downloaded in a sly way in the past, so I only had three jazz songs , and a popular song I didn't even know its name. I would have loaded my laptop with movies, television shows, and music videos. I could have spent hours listening to my favorite podcasts. It's very easy to download them, convert them into mp3s and then save to my PC. After that, I could lay in couch and listen to podcasts that I enjoy at home. It was meant to be my golden hour or two weeks of gold. But it ended up being two weeks of gazing at the ceiling and waiting for the passengers every time there is a sound in the corridors.

The trip was completely empty, both literally and metaphorically.. I have never been so bored. However, the hours of downtime could have been spent listening to podcastsor watching videos for DIY repairs for the home, or enjoying music. The next time I'll convert Youtube videos into mp4 and mp3 format using my laptop. take them with me and enjoy my favorite tunes from my laptop. Music can help lift your spirits So don't get discouraged. Be aware that Netflix and Hulu apps let you download shows and movies on your computer to watch offline. Also, these can be used when you travel long distances to the Arctic. It is not a good idea to spend your time in boredom. Have fun!
