Following many hours of consultation and preparation by officers from Raleigh police and animal control, the glue trap finally caught a venomous zebra cobra on the porch of a home in north Raleigh on Wednesday night, capping a 48-hour case involving North Carolina media.
The cobra was guided into a red bucket and taken to a safe location so that the glue could be removed completely.
Earlier in the day, WRAL's cameras caught the snake crawling out of a siding onto a porch on Sandringham Drive. In looking around, the hood of the vulture was visible.
The Wildlife Control officers moved camera crews back after confirming that this is the snake, then went in to attempt to capture it.
On Tuesday, police searched the same home after receiving a 911 call there.

N.C., and Raleigh, N.C. Following a 48-hour saga that garnered attention from across North Carolina, a venomous zebra cobra was captured with a glue trap on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, highlighting the nearly 48-hour ordeal across North Carolina.
The cobra was guided into a red bucket and taken to a safe location so the glue could be completely removed.
The snake was seen crawling onto a porch of a house on Sandringham Drive earlier in the day. Its hood was visible when it raised its head to look around.

Her neighbor Joan Nelson expressed relief at the end of the ordeal.
It makes me really happy and I feel much more secure, she said. After this experience, I feel like I can go outside, walk on the deck, or even go for a jog. Though I do feel a little sorry for the snake.

The snake, a zebra cobra, is extremely fast and can spit up to nine feet away, making a walk with the dog even scarier. Consequently, the African Snakebite Institute says the snake is very dangerous. The venom can cause the nervous system to shut down.
Someone who is bitten by the poison of a cobra would feel pain, swelling, gastrointestinal irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. A severe fever and breathing issues could cause respiratory failure.
Veterinary specialist Salina Locke treats all kinds of pets at Avian and Exotic Animal Care in Nashville, Tennessee.
The cobra species in this group doesn't typically bite. The venom from them, she said, is typically sprayed. She said they are extremely accurate and shoot straight for the eyes.
The risk of keeping this snake as a pet prevents Locke from recommending this snake for this purpose.
During sleep, most bites occur. Health problems can linger for years for people who are bit, according to research.
In the late afternoon on Tuesday, police searched 6917 Chamonix Place, near the place where the snake was last spotted.
In March, police visited the home four times because of an animal problem. They returned on Monday and Tuesday after the zebra cobra was discovered on a porch about a half mile away.
The county records indicate that Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at this address. A Facebook account associated with Keith Giffords name shows several images of snakes that he claims his son Christopher owns.
Christopher Gifford has 460000 followers on TikTok. On one of his posts, he claims to own a 7-foot zebra cobra.
