The Ultimate Road Trip In Spain

There are many reasons you should visit Spain and almost no reason to skip this charming vacation. We had some great food in Cartagena, including a lovely meal in the view of the Roman ruins at sunset at Restaurante La Catedral. I'll always remember sitting at the table under the window of our apartment, doing "cheers" with my wine glass to little Larson as we devoured Manchego cheese and bread. It was so good that we bought it often to accompany cheese and wine that we munched on while watching the sun set over the Roman ruins out our balcony. Our first true meal in Spain was in Frigiliana, where we stopped at the tiny La Taberna del Sacristan for lunch. Bright red gazpacho, that cool tomato cucumber soup, tasted even more refreshing in the hot Spanish sun.

If you'd prefer to take the train and bus, it's certainly possible, although you'll likely need to give yourself a bit more time. You could also return to Barcelona at your end of the trip. For a central location in Madrid, it's hard to beat Salamanca! It is located just north of El Retiro, close to Puerta Del Sol, and is perfect for families. The downside is that convenience and charm are not cheap. But if you plan to mostly spend your

Travellers Who Have Not Been Fully Vaccinated
Leon, like many other historical cities and towns in this part of Spain, has been an important stop on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela for centuries. From Oviedo, the road goes over the mountains, through the forest, past a couple of lakes and dams with no big cities or towns till Leon. Although the region isn't as beautiful as the coast, it offers great cultural experiences.

St. Paul's Hospital is one of the largest collections of Catalan modernist architecture. The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau came into being in 1401 with the merging of the six hospitals in the city of Barcelona at that time. These luxurious, modern rooms are decorated with soothing white, gray, taupe, and purple tones and are equipped with Wi-Fi.

Days In Spain: Planning The Best Route For A 2 Weeks Road Trip!
The tour guide was not very helpful. He was too busy with personal matters, such as a paper due the week before. The tour did not fulfill what was written in their descriptions. You didn't go into the Alahambra palace, you only toured the gardens. I enjoyed Flamenco Dancing in Sevilla as well as the fascinating history lesson by Angela, our wonderful tour guide. Spain is a special place and I'm so happy that we got to experience it with Collette. The Tour Manager was great and kept us updated on all events every day.

Why Travel With Audley?
They have hundreds of activities and tours available across Spain. One of the best tours I've taken was their three-countries-in-one-day tour, where I got to check out parts of Spain, France and Andorra, leaving from Barcelona. If you're an older traveller and put off by the thought of nights spent in hostels, you shouldn't be!

Chefchaouen's instagram photos are not like many other photoshopped insta-shots. Have you seen the Instagram photos of blue-drenched cities? Most likely, you were swooning at Chefchaouen, Morocco's charming little town. This is a photographer's ultimate dream. Many people wonder if the whole town is colored in blue or just a few streets.

When the sun goes down, Seville's nightlife scene lights up with its many bars, nightclubs and flamenco dance halls. Seville is a top choice in Southern Spain because of its exceptional tourist attractions, vibrant festivals, and lively nightlife. As the capital city of Andalusia, Seville is also the region's financial and cultural capital.

This was a complete list of things you should pack for your next trip to Spain. The "see everything nearby" feature of HappyCow is the one that I use most when traveling. At the click of a button, it will show you all the veggie dining options within a five-kilometer radius. When hiking downhills, it is important to have proper ankle support. They should have thick soles to reduce the impact of walking on uneven terrain. You can capture the best moments of your holiday with a GoPro7 on any of these adventures. On our last trip to Spain forthe Camino de Santiago, we packed a new GoPro7 and were very happy with this great little action camera.

Venture into the historic center, one of the largest medieval quarters in Europe, and a World Heritage site. Visit the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, or Mezquita, a Catholic cathedral built within a former Moorish mosque. After, take a stroll through the maze of lanes and whitewashed homes that once belonged to the Jewish Quarter. Enjoy Cordoba's culinary delights at lunch at a local restaurant.

Next leg takes you south to Valencia - a seriously underrated Spanish city that offers culture, food and sunshine aplenty with an amazing historical centre. You can also visit Andalucia if you are looking for a place to just walk around old towns and enjoy traditional Spanish food. A perfect way to explore Spain is to drive around Andalucia. Andalucia is the perfect place for you if you love sun, beaches, and mountain hideaways that overlook the sea. Hopefully you've gained some insight and perhaps a future Spain itinerary from everything provided. The sad thing is that so much of Spain was not mentioned, despite everything that was covered on these trips.
