North Raleigh venomous zebra cobra hunt is over after glue trap takes care of the problem.
Following many hours of consultation and preparation by officers from Raleigh police and animal control, a venomous zebra cobra was caught with a glue trap on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, ending an eventful 48-hour period that attracted attention throughout North Carolina.
It was taken to a safer location to be fully cleaned after it was guided into the bucket and guided out.

The WRAL cameras captured the striped snake crawling out of the siding of a Sandringham Drive house, onto the front porch. Lifting its head, it was able to see its hood.
After confirming the snake was the one they were trying to capture, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back.
This same residence had called 911 early Tuesday, sparking the search.

N.C., and Raleigh, N.C. Following hours of consultation and preparation by police and animal control officers, a glue trap captured a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, capping an incident that drew widespread attention.
A red bucket was used to guide the cobra into a safe location so that the glue could be removed from its body completely.
A striped snake was captured by WRAL cameras crawling onto a front porch on Sandringham Drive earlier in the day. Looking around, its hood was visible as it lifted its head.
After confirming the snake was the one they were trying to capture, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back.
911 call from that same home sparked the search in the early morning Tuesday.

Her neighbor Joan Nelson expressed relief at the end of the ordeal.
'I feel very safe now,' she said. Now that I can go outside, I can walk on my deck and go outside. The snake, though, must have felt bad.

Snakes can spit up to nine feet and are faster than most snakes. A morning dog walk turns into a dangerous event when the snake spits this wide. The African Snakebite Institute cites the snake as extremely dangerous. Venom can cause the nervous system to shut down in victims.
A person hit by the poison would experience pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. Afterward, a fever and breathing problems would result, possibly resulting in respiratory failure.
Avian and Exotic Animal Care is owned and operated by veterinarian Salina Locke.
The species of cobras that are found in this area do not bite. The venom is more likely to spray because they are very accurate and go straight for the eye, she said.
Due to the risks, Locke does not recommend this snake as a pet.
Sleeping is when most bites occur. Researchers found that bit individuals could suffer health issues for years to come.
Police searched a home on 6917 Chamonix Place on Tuesday, near where the cobra was last seen.
In March, there was an issue with the animals at that home. They returned on Monday and Tuesday after the zebra cobra was discovered on a porch about a half mile away.
There are county records showing that Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address. On a Facebook page associated with Keith Gifford's name, he posts photos of snakes owned by his son, Christopher.
TikTok user Christopher Gifford has more than 460000 followers. On one of his posts, he claims to own a 7-foot zebra cobra.
