Following many hours of consultation and preparation by Animal Control officers, a glue trap was finally able to capture the deadly snake on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday night, capping a 48-hour case involving North Carolina media.
Cobras in red buckets are guided into a safe location so the glue on their bodies can be removed.
An earlier video interview had captured a striped snake crawling onto a porch on Sandringham Drive from the siding of a house. While raising its head to take a look around, its hood was visible.
After confirming it was the snake, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back before moving in to capture it.
911 call from that same home sparked the search in the early morning Tuesday.

North Carolina. Despite hours of consultation and preparation of law enforcement and animal control officers, a glue trap ultimately trapped a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, coming to an end in North Carolina after nearly 48 hours of turmoil.
Cobras were placed inside red buckets and taken to a safe location so the glue could be removed completely from their bodies.

Officers from Animal Control moved the cameras back after confirming that it was the snake, trying to capture it before moving in.
The search was sparked by a 911 call from the same home early Tuesday.

Her neighbor Joan Nelson expressed relief at the end of the ordeal.
She said she was really happy and that she felt much safer now. Now that I'm outside, I can go on my deck and have a walk. Nevertheless, I feel somewhat sorry for the snake.
A zebra cobra has been missing from a north Raleigh neighborhood where this stunted snake is seen.
Zebra cobras are fast, can spit up to nine feet, and can spit at high speeds, making even morning dog walks dangerous. In the opinion of the African Snakebite Institute, snakes are very dangerous. Venom can cause the nervous system to shut down in victims.
A person hit by the poison would experience pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. The symptoms would be a heavy fever and breathing problems that could lead to respiratory failure.
The Avian and Exotic Animal Care is run by veterinarian Salina Locke, who treats all types of pets.
There is no evidence that this species of cobra bites. She said they are more likely to spray their venom . they are very precise and go straight for the eyes.
The risk of keeping this snake as a pet prevents Locke from recommending this snake for this purpose.
Sleeping people are more likely to be bitten. Bite victims may suffer health problems for years, research reveals.
It was Tuesday afternoon when police conducted a search of 6917 Chamonix Place, near the street where the snake was last seen.
Four police officers visited the home in March to investigate an animal problem. The zebra cobra was spotted on a porch a half mile away on Monday and Tuesday.
