North Raleigh venomous zebra cobra hunt is over after glue trap takes care of the problem.
Following many hours of consultation and preparation by officers from Raleigh police and animal control, a glue trap was finally able to capture the deadly snake on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday night, capping a 48-hour case involving North Carolina media.
A red bucket was used to place the cobra in the bucket and to transport it to a location where all glue could be removed.
An earlier video interview had captured a striped snake crawling onto a porch on Sandringham Drive from the siding of a house. In looking around, the hood of the vulture was visible.
Officers from Animal Control moved the cameras back after confirming that it was the snake, trying to capture it before moving in.
Early Tuesday, early Tuesday morning, a 911 call from inside the same house sparked the search.

Joan Nelson said she was relieved that the ordeal was over.
My feeling of security has improved, she said. After spending time on my deck, I feel like I can go outside now. The snake, though, must have felt bad.
A zebra cobra has been missing from a north Raleigh neighborhood where this stunted snake is seen.
Even a morning walk with your dog becomes dangerous due to the snake's ability to spit up to nine feet and be as fast as a zebra cobra. Approximately 60% of all snakebite deaths occur in Africa. It is possible that the venom can damage a victim's nervous system.
An individual hit by the snake's poison would feel immediate pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. It would then lead to a high fever and breathing problems, which could cause respiratory failure.
The Avian and Exotic Animal Care is run by veterinarian Salina Locke, who treats all types of pets.
There is no evidence that this species of cobra bites. The venom sprays more readily, since it is so accurate. they aim right for the eyes, she said.
Despite the risks involved, Locke doesn't recommend buying this snake for a pet.
The majority of bites occur during sleep. Bite victims could be plagued with health problems for years, studies show.
There was a police search of 6917 Chamonix Place Tuesday afternoon, near the street where the last sighting of the cobra was reported.
In March, police visited the home four times because of an animal problem. Following the sighting on Monday and Tuesday of the zebra cobra on a porch about half a mile away, they returned.
