Raleigh's north side is home to a deadly zebra cobra found on a glue trap.
Despite the consultation and preparation by animal control officers, a venomous zebra cobra was caught with a glue trap on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, a 48-hour incident that generated nationwide interest.
Cobras in red buckets are guided into a safe location so the glue on their bodies can be removed.
The WRAL cameras captured the striped snake crawling out of the siding of a Sandringham Drive house, onto the front porch. Its hood was visible when it raised its head to look around.
After confirming the snake was the one they were trying to capture, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back.
On Tuesday, police searched the same home after receiving a 911 call there.

North Carolina, Raleigh Despite hours of preparation by animal control and law enforcement officers, a zebra cobra was caught on a Raleigh porch on Wednesday night, bowing out a nearly 48-hour ordeal that gained national attention.
To completely remove the glue from its body, the cobra was seated in a red bucket and transported to a safe location.
A striped snake was spotted earlier in the day crawling out of the siding of a house on Sandringham Drive, onto the front porch of a house. When it lifted its head to look around, its hood was visible.
After confirming it was the snake, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back before moving in to capture it.
An early morning 911 call from that same home prompted the search.

Neighbor Joan Nelson said the ordeal was over.
She said she was really happy and that she felt much safer now. Getting outside on my deck or stepping out on my deck gives me a sense of freedom. The snake, however, was in a terrible position.
One zebra cobra has gone missing from a north Raleigh neighborhood where there is a striped snake on a porch.
A zebra cobra, which can spit up to nine feet, is faster than most snakes, so even a morning stroll with the dog becomes a fearsome event. Consequently, the African Snakebite Institute says the snake is very dangerous. A victim's nervous system could be shut down by the venom.
A person hit by the poison would experience pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. The symptoms would be a heavy fever and breathing problems that could lead to respiratory failure.
Dr. Salina Locke, a veterinarian at Avian and Exotic Animal Care, treats all kinds of animals.
Cobras of this kind usually do not bite. The venom is more likely to spray because they are very accurate and go straight for the eye, she said.

Due to the risks, Locke does not recommend this snake as a pet.

Most bites occur when a person is sleeping. Research indicates people who are bit can suffer health issues for a long time.
There was a police search of 6917 Chamonix Place Tuesday afternoon, near the street where the last sighting of the cobra was reported.
A police officer visited that home four times in March for an animal issue. Zebra cobras were seen on a porch a half mile away on Monday and Tuesday, after this was initially reported.
Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address, according to county records. There is a Facebook account for Keith Gifford that shows several photos of snakes that he claims are owned by his son, Christopher.
TikTok user Christopher Gifford has more than 460000 followers. One of his posts claims that he owns a 7-foot zebra cobra.
