Raleigh's north side is home to a deadly zebra cobra found on a glue trap.
Despite the consultation and preparation by animal control officers, a venomous zebra cobra was caught with a glue trap on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, ending an eventful 48-hour period that attracted attention throughout North Carolina.
The glue was removed from the cobra's body after being guided into a red bucket and brought to a safe location.
Earlier in the day, WRAL's cameras caught the snake crawling out of a siding onto a porch on Sandringham Drive. A hood was visible wherever it turned its head.
When officers confirmed it was the snake, they walked back from the camera crew before moving in to try and capture it.
This same residence had called 911 early Tuesday, sparking the search.

There has been a missing zebra cobra in a north Raleigh neighborhood where a striped snake is laying out on a porch.
Even a morning dog walk can prove dangerous for this snake, a zebra cobra that can spit up to nine feet. In the opinion of the African Snakebite Institute, snakes are very dangerous. A victim's nervous system might shut down upon ingestion of the venom.
One who is poisoned by the cobra would immediately feel pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. A severe fever and breathing issues could cause respiratory failure.
An experienced veterinarian, Dr. Salina Locke, treats all kinds of pets at the Avian and Exotic Animal Care.
Cobras of this type are rarely known to bite. They spray their venom more often -- they are very accurate and attack straight in the eye, according to her.
Due to its dangers, Locke advises against keeping this snake as a pet.
Sleeping is when most bites occur. The effects of being bitten may last for years, according to research.
Police searched a home on 6917 Chamonix Place on Tuesday, near where the cobra was last seen.
In March, police visited the home four times because of an animal problem. The zebra cobra was spotted on a porch a half mile away on Monday and Tuesday.
