How can you keep boredom at bay during for long hours as a night security guard at an underground facility

These are hard times. The gig economy has made it more difficult for me to navigate in this new situation. I used to do very well before pandemic hit, and in addition to my regular job as dental assistant, I had to pick up a night-time security position at a local machine production plant that is close to where I live. Most of the work is controlled by computers. There are employees at all times, but only me and 2 engineers on night crew. I have an emergency number to dial in the event of an accident or if machinery stops functioning. Then, I contact engineers or the outside line for more engineers. I do nothing. It's because they're not generating any value in this regard. Thus, night guards are really a glorified switchboard attendant.

In all likelihood, I do like it. It's peaceful. Although I'm not a very sleepy person, I find it quite spooky. It's quite dull at night, so I keep trying to get it to go faster. For example, last 2 weeks I've been practicing the dance I observed on Tik Tok, it's not difficult, but it's quite hard for me personally to recreate, it's developed by a girl in her early teens, one of those famous Tik Tok sisters, so it's quite hard, cause this is what they're known for: all those tiny complex dances that involve simultaneous eye rolling and shoulder shakes.. I'm too old to be able to describe it.

I've been trying various car-fixing videos recently. While I'm not sure what to do with my vehicle right away, I enjoy watching others create their vehicles to appear unstoppable. DIY videos are also very instructive and easy to follow. So I began to run across another issue. Internet stopped working on my phone at some point. I couldn't connect to any video or any other thing because, as we all are aware, internet is crucial to everything. I was capable of downloading Youtube videos and then save them on my smartphone. I was able to view diy videos when the internet went dark. It doesn't matter if you stream it from a particular site or another online. http://y2mate.party/ If you download it in your home, and then watch it on your phone even if you don't have internet or another online connection. It's simple to set up a DVR for your online video and not just TV shows.

Speaking of TV, to my total joy, I have figured out how I can download new episodes and even movies directly to my laptop. I brought my laptop into work since it has a bigger screen and better speakers. It's so much easier to watch TV shows there. I signed up for HULU as well as Netflix. Both allow you to download their apps and then mark the video to downloading. After a matter of hours depending on how long the show is and the quality settings that you chose, the show will be downloaded to you device. You will then be able to watch it any time whether you have internet access or not. It will take you about 15 minutes to stream TV and lets you catch up on any episodes that you have missed last night.

There are many other educational or just plain interesting materials that I can grab at home in order to shorten the process. Youtube's webinars are fantastic. http://y2mate.party/en2/ However, it's hard to stay focused on the message when you're interrupted several times. What am I talking about... In these instances, I attempt to make a plan at home, and download YouTube video in mp4 format to my laptop and then watch it at any time during work. No limitations on wifi, and not even wifi is required, the file is stored on my laptop as a DVR and nothing is ruined no matter how spotty the wifi, it is not necessary in my situation.

Sometimes, I bring my son to work along with me. This is because my wife works her night shift, making it difficult for us both to be home with our child. So I pack him in and set him up in front of my computer's screens, and within minutes he's sleeping. I wake him and show him my laptop with a few songs. He's so excited that he can watch the videos. This is the way we collaborate better when we do our thing. He seems to really enjoy being with me. Maybe he's tired of staying up all night.
