Bring your tablet, laptop, and sometimes your smartphone with you camping with your children.

This is something I have had to learn by trial and error. My mom has been with me the entire week telling me to prepare and to remember this. My excitement about the first time I went camping with my grandkids, my children, was all I shared with her. She was all over my preparations, giving me advice and guidance on every situation. I don't mind my mom's talking, let alone hearing her lecture. But listening to her makes me nervous, so I tried to finish it faster than I should have. This was a huge error.


We left the car and set off for the campsite. To recreate the experience my father had earlier in his life I decided to go to an area that was remote and, as it turned to be later, was out of service. Our smartphones were out of service and we were pretty much left to ourselves without a camping party in sight. It's okay. I was expecting a wonderful time off work.. 3 days in the wilderness, with nature.. Within 24 hours of the camping trip, we were back in the car.

What was the situation? We didn't have Internet and we didn't have bars, we were bare of anything... I had packed my laptop along with a couple of games online. But it was impossible to get it out the bag. I had a great background ready to see my projector, which I carried to create big-screen effects films. The only issue was that there wasn't Internet access to Hulu, Netflix, or Disney+. All they wanted was to check their email or their text messages, be in touch with school activities and more, etc. It was just too for me to handle and I packed everything up to go. My kids made sounds similar to little piglets munching delicious food when they emerged from the internet-free zone. Really... Don't be fooled I love my children.. However, it was embarrassing. They squealed and moaned as their phones began to beep and signalling incoming text messages and emails.

Since then, I have developed a better understanding of how to be prepared and to not get trapped in an area with no roaming. This time, we went on a long boat ride towards our destinations, there I needed my best friends from the past with me - two tablets and a laptops that were filled with Hulu offline video downloads on oneand Netflix movies and TV shows on the other, and the laptop contains all the music songs, videos and large movies that I've downloaded for later viewing using both Hulu and Netflix apps that are available through the Windows app store. I have about 600 hours of material to watch that include the full Will & Grace, Friends and South Park seasons and added episodes.

There are a ton of YouTube videos filled with fun stuff for children. I downloaded a few Youtube music videos, and converted some to mp3 format. I discovered this app that lets me download videos directly onto my laptop. This lets me enjoy the videos on my laptop at anytime I want as long as I have power. I DVR a lot of TV shows, films, and online seminars, lectures, and anything else that's worthwhile to watch later. I save those videos in format mp4 on my laptop. Later, I can play them with VLC or KMP or anything else that plays video files and supports 4k.

4k is a second important aspect that I insist on. Have you watched this? http://y2mate.world The video is incredible. I would recommend it. Televisions that have 4K resolution come with excellent software built in which process the video and improve it. The TV converts old videos into something much more. Highly recommended for all different ages!
