So how can a machine that looks like a scooter actually be called an electric bike? Why isn't it called a scooter, or a moped? It's all about specification and the law.

The range for the Phoenix Brute is quite decent. Using the 3640 controller, you can go 11 miles on battery power alone. The 4840 controller will increase your range to 12 miles. If you pedal some of the time, the range will increase substantially.

But if your journey mainly involves a short distance and the roads you will be traveling are flat with little challenge, then a normal bicycle might just do the trick. And it is cheaper of cost.

If you plan to use an electric bike for short distances then you will not need one with a lot of power or speed. If you plan to use it for plenty of travel or for hill climbing, you will want one that is faster and has more driving features. OSpeaking of motor interrupts. A proper kit or bike will have switches built into the brake levers that cut power to the motor as soon as you touch the brakes. A good electric bicycle or E bike kit will have this feature on both brake levers. A very bad, very dangerous product will not have it at all.

OKits that advertise installation in "an hour or less" are something to be wary of. Sure, it can be done, but as with everything there are always two ways to accomplish something. The quick way and the right way. Proper installation of a kit requires making sure that all the components fit snugly and correctly. Remember, you are going to trust your one and only body to this thing as you move along at 20 miles an hour. Having the front wheel fall out, the throttle slip, the battery container break loose or having no motor interrupts on the brakes can make for a very unpleasant experience not to mention destroying your bike or kit.

O.K. on to the tutorial. This method works better than using other mapping applications because you can choose which streets and or paths, bike trails etc... that you want to take. And choosing back roads or secondary streets rather than busy roads that the other applications usually point you to. This is especially good for electric bikes, but can be used effectively for any electric vehicle.

This is definitely a benefit over non-foldable bikes because now you can easily carry your electric fold up bike onto a ferry, train, bus, and car so easily. You can also fold the bike and keep it in your office safe and sound right next to you knowing that no one is going to get their hands on it without your permission!
