<p class="p__0">Americans are dramatically divided along partisan lines when it comes to the media outlets they turn to and trust for their political and election-related news, according to a new Pew Research study Center study. With today's large and fractured media landscape, our goal was not to do anything like a census. Instead, we wanted to select a variety of news outlets with significant audiences throughout different platform types.</p>

<p class="p__3">Most of the outlets we studied became part of a comparable study we released in 2014, which enabled us to track whether partisans' rely on them altered gradually. One group not consisted of here are wire services like The Associated Press and Reuters. While those companies certainly produce a good deal of initial reporting, our study is not an assessment of news brand names, however an analysis of outlets Americans rely on for news and the trust levels of those outlets.</p>
