It also violates Youtube's TOS. Well, this is an adequate reason to Adobe and other large software companies to not venture into this niche, although there are a lot of video converters on the market. They are mostly not supported anymore, which makes them outdated within 2-3 months of support ending; or are too new, which makes one question whether they are trustworthy enough...
Keepvid is a great example. Keepvid was the software bundle which included Youtube video downloading. This was in addition to other tools, such as IDtags editor and Youtube playlist convertor. But, Keepvid lost support for the bundle of software in 2018. The bundle was sold out and all life-time licenses - all gone useless within a few weeks. Since software is always being updated, this has happened. Youtube is able to alter their content's availability at any time, so the software should be kept up-to-date.
