How to keep up with the music of your country of residence despite the fact that you have lived there for more than 10 years

How are you doing? I am a young Russki man who emigrated to America in search of an improved life. I was extremely poor in Russia. I wasn't near the middle class and I wasn't rich at all. It wasn't me however, my family. As a child in Russia and the Soviet Union, young adults did not have money. We needed to find different ways to make money. There were many different schemes. Most of them looked like drunks asking their friends for a few dollars to buy their vodka bottle. The concept is very similar. We would find ways to earn a few dollars and purchase a loaf. We were always hungry.

So, I came to America. It's nothing like New York, Brooklyn, Brighton Beach. The city is quite similar to my home. It's noisy, dirty and packed with Russian language, and people are rude. I spent quite a bit of money in Russia, mostly for Russian restaurants, bookstores and music stores.

I am a huge fan of music and books. As of late, it's simple to find Russian literature on Kindle. And so I stopped buying hard copy books as I don't have any space in my house, my wife is quite an avid hoarder, and I do my best to contribute to her, including avoiding buying new items that I don't have to store around my house, because there is no place to put it... Although stacks of books looked interesting for the first few months, they became drab and uninteresting as I realized that there was still plenty of room for my other items.


Music is an entirely different genre. Since I am a driver, my job demands me to listen to a lot of music. Being a Russian immigrant, it's hard for me to like the music I find in America. I'm not a fan of hip hop or rap. I also don't like the trendy stuff that children like to dance to. I really like old Russian music, also the songs from jail which are unique to the Russian music industry. After a few weeks I was able to create a lengthy playlist of over 300 songs , which I really enjoy. When I play this music in my head all throughout the day and night I'm not having any trouble getting used to music, because there's over 300 songs. That's a lot. The problem is that I'm unable to access the Internet to download them to listen in my car. This is due to the fact that I use it to navigate and driving. I prepare the playlist at home. When I am in the middle of the list, I record some songs on Youtube and then convert them to MP3 files. After that, I save the mp3s on an audio CD using my laptop. I then take the disc to the car to listen to. It is also possible to use an Youtube playlist and print the songs. Each song is then transformed into MP3 and then stored on my computer. Then it's easy to transfer the song to an audio CD. Sometimes, I just make data discs but they won't play on the car stereo. It's incredible how technology operates in the event that audio files are recorded. I don't even require an internet connection in order to play mp3; I simply insert CD into my car stereo and music from Russia is blasting in Manhattan when I drive by.

It is simple and cheap for you to copy Youtube videos to mp3 and then save them on your Smartphone. My friend connected his smartphone to the car stereo , and it started playing excellent quality sound within a matter of seconds. It didn't take too much Internet to stream Spotify or Pandora radio. I'm thinking of trying this next.. However, I'll be cautious about using wifi that is free.
