How to avoid boredom when working as an underground security guard during long hours

These are hard times. The gig economy has made it harder for me to navigate in this new environment. I was doing very well, before pandemic struck, but now, along with my primary job as dental assistant I must accept a nighttime position as security guard at the nearby manufacturing facility for machines. It's mostly automated, employees are here in the daytime, but night crew only counts myself and two engineers. https://ytoffline.xyz If there's a problem, or the machinery isn't operating properly I have my emergency number. After that, I call engineers and/or contact outside for additional engineers. I do nothing. The company isn't even producing anything in this area, so night guard is just a glorified switchboard attendant.

It's something I love. It's peaceful. Although I'm a sleepy person, I'm a bit scared. It's quite dull at night, so I keep trying to make it go by quicker. For instance, in the last 2 weeks, I've been working on the Tik Tok dance. It's not too difficult but it's a challenge to replicate the dance. This dance was taught to me by a young Tik Tok sister, so it's not easy. I don't know how to describe that stuff, I am old..

I've been experimenting with new car fixing videos in the last few months. While I'm not sure how to put them into my car immediately I like watching other people make their cars seem impossible to stop. This is the same for DIY videos - they're often informative and simple to view. It was at this point that I realized that there was an additional issue. Internet would cease to work on my phone at some point. I was unable to access any video or any other thing because, as we all know, the internet is necessary for everything. Evidently, I discovered how to download videos from Youtube and then save them to my phone and , even during the hours of no internet access and I was able to watch the DIY videos directly from my phone. It doesn't matter which site you are streaming from, where you store the videos on your phone, or whether you download the video in your home, and then connect to your phone to view it offline if there is internet connectivity. It's simple to set up a DVR for streaming online videos, and not just TV shows.

To my pure joy, I have figured out how to download the latest episodes, and even movies, directly to my laptop. Because my laptop is equipped with bigger screen and more powerful speakers, I've been bringing it to work. I joined HULU as well as Netflix. They permit both to download their apps. After a time, according to the duration of the program, its quality options, and other variables the show will be downloaded onto the device. This makes it accessible at any time, from anywhere even without internet. Although it's only 15 minutes in length, I can still watch TV on the train to work.

There are many informative or just fascinating resources I can find at home and bring to work. This makes my day go much quicker. I really love Youtube's workshops on various self-improvement methods however, it's a challenge to watch 1hr video that is interrupted multiple times and yet stay with the idea they are trying to deliver. That's what I'm talking about. You'll see why.

My young son sometimes comes with me on my way to work. This is the time that my spouse works her night shift and it's nearly impossible for us to not leave for home. So I pack him in the intention of setting him up with my computer screen and within a few minutes, he's asleep. However, when he awakes up, I offer him my laptop and a few of those freshly downloaded music videos. As he is watching all those amazing young artists doing their crazy things on screens He is content, I am happy to continue doing my own thing via the phone.. This is the way we collaborate better when we do our thing. But he seems to like being with me, perhaps due to the fact that he is up most of the night. Isn't that what children want at times?
