There are psychological reasons to bet
The gambling industry is perhaps regarded as the second oldest profession known to mankind. Aside from the basic instincts that guided the apes through their evolution, the one factor that created Homo sapiens distinguish themselves in the struggle to survive was their natural need to gamble and to be a leader in their community. The attraction to the unknown and things that had outcomes beyond the reach of the mind and body created the foundations of our religion, science mythology, theology, and a lot of the information that went on to become an integral part of our culture. After all weren't Adam and Eve betting on fate and the commandments of the Lord in taking the bit of the forbidden fruit? Behold! Their gamble been rewarded...

Our brains are trained to be attracted by the game of chance. This can be explained by our ancestors in the past who were constantly fighting for their lives. These odds were the key to their survival, as well as that of their people. Cut to the 21st century. The world of gambling is now multi-billion dollar. It thrives on the excitement and desire of the modern day gamblers who are constantly "nearly" hitting the jackpot. It is the desire of a smart executive or businessman with high-end degrees that makes them want to gamble. The evidence of their ability to think and reason has guided them throughout their lives. The idea of spending their hard-earned money one night in an obscene casino can be a fascinating research that sheds light on the motivations and desires of a brain that is on the edge.

We must first be aware that not all gamblers fit the stereotypes that other people have about them. This is referring to both stereotypes that are at the opposite end of the spectrum. One is an elegant, sophisticated, and ladies-oriented man who is knowledgeable about wine, and has three tricks up his sleeve. This image is reinforced by James Bond-like characters that makes gambling attractive and attractive. Another side is the ugly counterpart to this handsome-devil. He is a social rot, struggling, dependent on drugs, theft and fighting for the pleasure of gambling. He's now a danger to his family as well as society because he is so dependent on it. The reality of our gambler is somewhere between the two ends of this spectrum.

In the real world, the gambling fraternity can be divided into three distinct classes, each with their own set of motives and reasons. These are:

1.) Casual Gamblers or Low Risk Gamblers:

This is a group of gamblers who see betting for what it is, a sport. These people will wager with their friends who are fervent over the Euro Cup outcome. Gambling is for computer of the abilities needed to prove that they are persons of the world. Because their social circle requires this or they get thrills from it, they engage in gambling. But the most important thing is that they always gamble with the extra money they are having and know when it is time to decide when it is time to wake up and get forward with their lives.

2.) 2) Problem Gamblers or regular Gamblers

This is a group of those for whom gambling has evolved from a temporary pastime into a serious business. can i play a game are having a difficult time breaking the habit of gambling because they are addicted. Problem gamblers are those who play on a regular basis.

3) The pathological Gamblers:

This is the class which is likely to include people who contribute to the second stereotype mentioned above. The term "pathological" is used in psychological usage as a compulsion marked by the ability to resist overwhelming and irrational desires. Therefore, the gamblers who are pathological are inexplicably drawn to gambling but who have lost their ability to discernment as to when it's appropriate to call it a day. Similar to a drug addict gambling is the center of their lives, ignoring any moral, ethical, economical or social argument against it. There are many other behavioral disorders afflicting their personality - which is known as co-morbidity. They require support in order to come out of their routine.

This is the classification for gamblers with their reasons for what they are. Let's now try to understand how a person moves around in these different stages. What actually initiates an individual in the world of gambling? Our ancestors understood that taking risks was a massive risk they couldn't afford to take. With our present situation, it is obvious that venturing into dark woods to hunt down an animal that was wild was a risky venture. For them, it was a way of living. Slowly , but surely, the ability to risk has decreased in all of us. For the novice, gambler, the risk is low and the rewards are so great that for him it makes sheer common sense to continue. It becomes difficult to not be drawn to the glamourous career. These games are often built with such a structure that the gambler thinks that his abilities are growing and he is closer then ever to winning. If not controlled, this could result in a problem and eventually an addiction. It is basically a mix of two universal emotions which are the desire to win big without actually working to achieve it, and the struggle to give up on the dream, no matter how high they are.
