Youtube shows advertisements to my child as he is watching baby shark videos and other similar channels.

Since I gave my little daughter her tablet, this has been my inquiry for two months. According to some, they aid babies grow, improve cognitive abilities, and perform other tasks. They also promote social and mental development. I can see my daughter enjoying the content. She's always watching it with sparkling eyes and giggles waiting to fly off her lips. However, I do not understand all of the commercials. My baby isn't an actual customer therefore why do they insist on showing ads that look like baby ones on YouTube for my child or YouTube?


The first reason is that babies aren't in a position to understand commercials. It's both a waste money as well as a waste of time. This commercial (video) is only one example of a waste. They're just babies, and they don't understand the message. It's impossible to say they are able to comprehend, so why do you insist on showing those ads? Do you believe that in the event that mother and father or other baby care providers are watching, they will benefit as well from the advertisements? It's becoming irritating to me.

It's hunting, I suppose. The advertisements continue to interrupt the videos, and who is it trying to get? My cat doesn't watch these videos. Advertisements are not relevant to her. They might be hoping I'm watching them with my cat. It's possible that they are partially right, but I find myself more interested in stupid videos for cats instead of doing anything useful.

So, I've discovered a great way to do this. It involves downloading Youtube videos to my computer, or to my daughter's tablet, then playing them on the tablet. What do I mean? I found this site that allows me to keep video on my computer instead of accessing it via Youtube every time my cat is looking for birdies. The video file can be saved to my desktop after pressing it twice. VLC automatically plays the video without commercials, and my cat enjoys it.

Similar procedure applies to baby videos. My daughter loves to watch videos on Youtube. I then save them to my desktop, and then copy them to her tablet. Sometimes if it's 1-2 songs, I only do it directly on her tablet but in reality it's much simpler to access this site on a desktop computer and then copy the video files to the location you wish to store the files, simply because it's more manageable using a mouse. Maybe it's just me being a neo-classical.

This technique actually proved to be an excellent way to save mobile data. Before downloading videos from Youtube was possible, I had to connect my phone to the internet using a hotspot or a separate data plan. Sometimes, we employed a data plan to save data on our tablets.
