The 2-child policy will not work for leveling out China's population. China is trying to stable out their aging population to create more jobs in the workplace. As said in the text, "Fewer and fewer younger workers have replaced rapidly aging ones, and the strain on China’s once ­cheap labor". However, this 2-child policy may not be doing enough to increase the young population. First of all, some couples may actually decide to have only one child or might not be able to afford another. According to the text, "Higher living costs and better social welfare systems have caused many of China’s urban middle class to voluntarily forgo having more than one child.". This is why China should increase the two-child policy to a three-child policy or an unlimited children policy. The couples who want more children will help balance out the population, and the couples who wish to only have one child will remain free of choice.

India should adopt a 2-child policy to combat the continuously increasing population, which is associated with many problems. As population rises, there will be limited space for building living spaces and not enough money for maintaining necessities such as water, roads, health, and sanitation. According to the text, "India has been grappling with population control for decades, which has resulted in abject poverty, with
government welfare programmers unable to cater to thousands of people earning less than $3 per day." This situation will not improve unless the country takes action to decrease the population. This is not to say that India has not already tried to combat population increase. They have tried to educate couples on the financial benefits of having less children, but these strategies cannot force people to stop because of a 1994 declaration that advocates free speech and the freedom to reproduce. In conclusion, India should take action by adopting a 2-child policy to reduce their population increase.
