A Royal Flush that includes Tan Chips
Fan Tan, or fan-tan, is a shrewd gambling game which has been popular for many years in China. Similar to many Chinese traditional games, it's split into several sections. The player who is the home base place bets according to the fan-tan board layout. The first player draws seven cards. The other players each roll a dice and put their cards at the bottom of the deck. A player's bet is the total amount of dice that are rolled.

If the player does not have cards, the base must buy more cards at the shop. Otherwise, they can buy one additional card for every row on the board that has sevens and then add those sevens onto the chips they have in the general playing area. After the last player has purchased their cards, the base buys three more cards and the new stack becomes the one which is changed over. In a fan tan the last player leaves with their chips in tact.

Each player gets three cards, while the remainder must buy two. When all the cards are bought, the player with the highest number of chips gets the prize. This game is very popular with kids and is usually played out at birthday parties. In the center of the table is usually an Fan Tan board and there typically five counters on top of it.

All of the cards have the same color and are typically of the white or red varieties. The color of the cards is in turn matched by five counters that are placed across the table.

There is always a fan-tan taking place and bets are usually involved. The basic variant of the game permits you to bet on the amount of chips you have. These bets permit players to double the amount of your chips when the card is flipped. The first round is over and another round begins. Four new players are added to the standard version. After the sevens are dealt, the dealer will then call the first dealer to begin the second round. The second dealer will hand out the same twenty-four cards to the players as in the Fan Tan round, but this time, the sevens that were eliminated are now placed in their proper positions. The second dealer will announce "iryther", and the Fan Tan round will end. Following that, every participant will return to their home table.
