For each word you will write one paragraph (5-6 sentences) that incorporates each of the following components:
Definition: 1 sentence definition from glossary or dictionary. Choose the definition that is most relevant to what we are studying.
Details: 2-3 sentences. Give me some relevant detail about the term. This would include names, dates, facts, or descriptions and connects directly to what we are studying.
Historical significance: Explain in 1-2 sentences the importance of this term to the time period we are studying.
Create a picture of the word. Your artistic ability is not graded but represent the term in some way, charts, graphs, even stick figures work. The goal is that looking at the picture would inform someone know what it is.
Formatting: The vocabulary terms must be typed, double-spaced, 12 pt, times new roman font. Put the term in bold, followed by the paragraph that addresses the three components.

Robert Gray was an American merchant sea captain and explorer. Robert Gray was the captain of the first U.S. Ship to travel all around the globe. Robert Gray named the Columbia River and sailed up the Columbia River into Oregon. Gray also explored the wide bay, which became known as Grays Harbor. Robert Gray is historically significant because without his explorations the United States was able to lay claim to the Oregon Territory and expand the country.
