a cell membrane is a thin semi-permeable membrane that surrounds the cytoplasm of a cell.
A cell membrane purpose is to protect the integrity of the interior of the cell by allowing certain substances into the cell, while keeping others substances out.
Also the cell membrane helps the cell keep its shape.

A cytoplasm is a thick liquid between the cell membrane holding organelles. it does not hold the nucleus.

A mitochondria is an organelle the acts like a digestive system. It takes in nutrients and breaks the nutrients down. Also it creates energy called molecules for the cell.
This process is called cellular respiration.
