Dear Mrs Majeed, We are pleased to inform you that the results of your recent breast imaging examination are NORMAL. Your mammograsm shows that your breast tissue is dense. Dense breast tissue is common and not abnormal. However, dense breast tissue can make it harder to evaluate the results of your mammogram and may also be associated with an increase risk of breast cancer. This information about the results of your mammogram is given to you to raise your awareness adn to inform your conversation with your doctor. together, you can decide which screening options are right for you. As you know, early detection of cancer is very important. Although breast imaging is the most accurate method for early detection, not all cancers are found through breast imaging. A thorough examination includes a combination of breast imaging, physical examination, and self-examination. Current American Cancer Society guidelines recommend screening mammograms and physical breast examinations every year starting at the year of 40. A report of your breast imaging results was sent to your physician. Your breast imaging results will become part of your medical file here for atleast 10 years. You are responsible for informing any new health care provider or mammography facility of the date and location of this examination.
